Authored by Dawn L. Billings for her personal use in her family-systems private practice in 2002, the Primary Colors Personality Insight Tools have gained a great reputation for being accurate, effective, and easy to administer, understand and remember. In the last decade PCPT has been widely used internationally and throughout the military and other U.S. government programs. Businesses, counselors, clergy and psychology professionals have fallen in love with the fun, ease and accuracy of this simple, yet analytically complex personality insight tool.
Dawn created Primary Colors Personality tools because she felt frustrated and limited by the traditional four quadrant tests, or personality tests that were too complex, difficult to administer, or difficult for her clients to easily understand. She wanted to create a tool that would provide her with more specific information she felt she needed, while at the same time, be simpler for her clients to enjoy, understand and remember.
Dawn earned a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology while focusing on Organizational Psychology for her doctorate studies. She quickly realized that whether she was working with couples and families who were struggling because of a break down in respect, communication, and understanding, or attempting to help different departments within a company communicate with, and work together more effectively, similar communication problems were consistenly evident.
